  • Every year, Lourdes celebrates the European Heritage Days! This year, they will take place from 16 to 17 September 2023.

    See you at the Château Fort Musée Pyrénéen.

    On the programme:

    Saturday 16/09 at 2.30pm - Library in the castle keep :
    The doors of the dungeon will exceptionally be opened to discover the history of the museum library, the memory of the Pyrenees, with a presentation of some emblematic works. Bookings required on 05 62 42 37 37. Guided tour by the Pyrenean Museum...

    > Saturday 16 and Sunday 17/09 at 10.30am and 4.30pm:
    Guided tour "Ô, towers of the château".
    A visit to discover the castle's well-known and lesser-known towers.

    > Saturday 16 and Sunday 17/09 at 11am:
    Guided tour "Between technique and tradition, wool, a contemporary heritage".
    The Musée Pyrénéen has many objects relating to wool. Breeding, processing and weaving wool, as well as its day-to-day use, is a technique and a tradition that is still alive today.

    > Sunday 17/09 from 2pm to 5pm - Musical walk:
    An afternoon of string tambourines, three-hole flutes and other traditional instruments played by a group from the Centre Départemental Musique et Danse Traditionnelles des Hautes-Pyrénées.

    > Sunday 17/09 from 10am to 12pm and from 2pm to 5pm - botanical garden:
    Meet the gardener to discuss plants and know-how.
    Free admission to the Château Fort Pyrenean Museum on both days from 10am to 7pm (last admission at 6pm).
    Temporary contemporary art exhibition "Des montagnes et des artistes - La Grande Traversée".

    "Podcasting our heritage": children from the Lapacca leisure centre played reporter on the key sites in the town of Lourdes. Discover this heritage with them (fortified castle, Garnavie tower, mill tower, Sacré-coeur church, Ophite tower, Pic du jer). During nine radio workshops, the children discovered the town's heritage and the radio medium, and met local residents and professionals.
